If you have the cushion which needs to be replaced, first take measurement of the old cushion. Take a tape measure and measure the width and depth of the seat cushion. Note down the measurements. If the cushion is rectangular or square shape (see diagram below), then the back width (B) of the cushion is the same as the front width (F). Please make sure that these two measurements are set to the same number. Some cushions have a taper shape, then you would need to also measure the back width (B) of the cushion. Measure both sides (SA & SB) and middle part of the cushion (M) for its depth. Do the same for the cushion for the backrest. Note down all the measurements including thickness of the cushions. Also take note of any irregular shape for the cushion, such as a round shape for the top of the back cushion. Provide this information in the given Instruction Box when you place your order.

Seat Pad Cushion

Deep Seating Club Chair Cushions

If there are no cushions for the furniture, then you may measure the furniture to get the measurements for the cushions. First measure the seat of the furniture, taking notes of the front and back widths, side and center depths. Also take note if there are any cut-in/cut-out corners or shape (for the legs or armrests). Do the same for the backrest. The height of the back rest will be affected by the thickness of the seat cushion. The thicker the seat cushion is, the shorter in height for the back cushion. So take note of this when you make your measurements.

If you want to have cushion for furniture that has an irregular shape (such as crescent shape), please use a large sheet of paper and trace the shape of the seat (or backrest if cushion is also required for the back) of the furniture and mail the entire shape or pattern to us together with a picture of the furniture. We will be able to produce cushions based on the drawings or patterns and measurement information from you.

TERMINOLOGIES

Single Seam

Single seam is when two pieces of fabric are joint together with one seam. The corners of the cushions are cut off to create a box look. The shape of the cushion is limited to equal lengths for the sides and center depths. In other words, the cushion shape can be taper (wider front and narrower back) but cannot be curved in the front. If you require a curved front cushion, please select the double seam option.

Double Seams

Double seam is also called boxed edge. The cushion will have the top and bottom fabrics joint with a strip of fabric that is also the thickness of the cushion. This style offers a lot of flexibility as to the shape of the cushion, eg. round, curved front, etc. If you need a cushion which has dimensions with different lengths for the side and center depths, please choose this double seam option.

Self-Welting (Single Seam)

Self-Welting Single Seam means the piping will use the same fabric as the fabric for the cushion. There will be one pipe running along the seam joining the top and bottom fabrics together.

Contrast-Welting (Single Seam)

Contrast-Welting Single Seam means the piping will use a different fabric from the fabric for the cushion. This fabric can be complementary or contrasting depending on your choice. Some striped fabric cushions look great with a coordinated solid color fabric for piping. Some solid color cushions (for example, black) look great with a contrasting (for example, white) piping. There will be one pipe running along the seam joining the top and bottom fabrics together.
